Magic Cookie Bars

1/2 C. butter
1-1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
1 pkg. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 pkg (3-1/2 oz.) coconut
1 c. chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Melt butter in a 13x9-inch baking pan. Sprinkle crumbs over melted butter; pour sweetened condensed milk over crumbs. Top evenly with the remaining ingredients. Press down firmly. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool before cutting.

Minute Cookies

2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 tablespoon white Karo syrup
1/2 cup milk
1 cube butter or margarine


Mix together and cook for 1 minute after it comes to a full boil.  Remove from heat.


Stir in:
1 cup peanut butter
3 cups quick oats
1 cup chopped nuts or coconut, if desired

Lemon Snickerdoodles

Mix thoroughly:
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs


Add:
2 teaspoons lemon flavoring
1/3 teaspoons yellow food coloring


Sift together:
2 3/4 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt


Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  


Mix well.  Roll into small balls about the size of a walnut.  Dip in sugar.  Place 2-inches apart, sugar side up, on heavy cookie sheet.  Bake about 8-10 minutes.

Roll Cookies

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 1/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons milk
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla


Cream butter, add sugar gradually.  Add beaten egg.  Mix and sift dry ingredients and add alternately with the milk.  Add vanilla.  Chill dough for 1 hour.  Roll part of the dough at a time to 1/8 of an inch in thickness.  Cut with floured cookie cutter.  Bake on greased baking sheet.  Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
